General Contracting is the most common of delivery methods. After the owner has
completed the facility design, they can then submit the design out to several
General Contractors for bid. The General Contractors bid off of the documents
and the project is awarded to the lowest or most qualified bidder.
Advantages- Single source responsibility for construction. (Design
responsibility still resides with the Architect or Engineer and therefore the
owner.)
- Contractor assumes responsibility of sub-contract execution.
- Less
risk than choosing Construction Management approach.
